Why an analyst-owned firm is different
Our leaders have done the work they oversee. That experience shapes how we review findings, handle uncertainty and support analysts on a customer’s program.
Carl McDonald founded Intelligence Analysis, Inc. in March 2006 and owns it today. He has worked in intelligence since 1984 and served as a US Navy intelligence analyst. His operational and analytic experience continues to inform the firm’s leadership and quality review.
He has worked as a supply chain risk management subject matter expert since 2016, bringing intelligence experience to the assessment of suppliers, ownership and components.
Our experience also covers counterintelligence, due diligence and all-source analysis. We bring that expertise to new requirements as customer needs evolve.
Leadership grounded in analytic experience
Barry Fisher became chief executive in August 2025. He previously worked here as a counterintelligence analyst from 2017 to 2018, doing supply chain risk research for a defense customer.
His career also includes managing analytic programs at Lockheed Martin, including a multi-year contract staffing over sixty expert analysts to a national-level intelligence agency.
